What is a Creative?
A creative is an artist. Not just a painter or musician or writer. She is someone who sees the world a little differently than others.
A creative is an individual. He is unique, someone who doesn't quite fit into any box. Some think of creatives as iconoclasts; others see them as rebels. Both are quite apt.
A creative is a thought leader. He influences people not necessarily through personality but through his innate gifts and talents.

Who qualifies as an Ouray Maker?
Any resident of Ouray County who:
Has tangible works available for purchase at a physical location within the City of Ouray. Works can be fine arts; crafts; books; recordings; shelf-stable foods or beverages, or agricultural products that are purchased by visitors and removed from the site. Works must have been substantially made or grown by the county resident;
OR
Offers arts or cultural events or activities open to the public within the City of Ouray. Events can be performing arts, music, classes, lectures, films, exhibits, art events, or tours.

Kick-off the summer season with a stroll through historic Downtown Ouray, Colorado. Visit our Maker’s Market on 6th Avenue, where you can buy unique locally-made goods directly from the hands that made them. Walk down Main Street where you can shop for everything from rocks to socks. Catch some live entertainment at the Wright Opera House. Quench your thirst at one of our breweries or other watering holes, and finish it off with a great meal and a dip in the Hot Springs. Now that’s a great way to start summer!
